Ascot Vale Public Housing Estate Renewel

The Ascot Vale Estate is being renewed as part of the Victorian Government’s largest ever investment into public housing renewal. The renewal program will replace ageing public housing with brand new, sustainable homes and will increase the amount of housing available on the site.

Flemington Public Housing Estate Renewal

We are working with the State Government's Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) on a project to renew the Flemington Housing Estate and surrounding Debneys Park Precinct

Moonee Valley Racecourse redevelopment

Since 2011 the Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) have been planning for a major redevelopment of their racecourse site within Moonee Ponds. This will ultimately include a new grandstand on Wilson Street and upgraded racetrack.

We have been actively involved in the planning process, advocating on behalf of our community to ensure that any development on the site is appropriate and takes into consideration impacts on traffic, environment, heritage, and amenity.

Moonee Valley Park – Hamton/Hostplus development

Since 2011 the Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) have been staging a major residential and mixed-use redevelopment of their land within Moonee Ponds. This will ultimately see up to 2000 new dwellings built on land that is surplus to the MVRC’s requirements. Development is being undertaken by Hamton/Hostplus.

We have been actively involved in the planning process, advocating on behalf of our community to ensure that any development on the site is appropriate and takes into consideration impacts on traffic, environment, heritage and amenity.

Past Projects

Ascot Chase

The Ascot Chase project is a residential development of approximately 400 dwellings on 16 hectares of land bounded by Walter Street, the Walter Street Reserve, Newsom Street, Stanford Street and Doncaster Street in Ascot Vale.

Buckley Street level crossing removal

The State Government has undertaken a grade separation to remove the Buckley Street level crossing in Essendon. Construction on the project has now finished.

Flemington Racecourse development

In October 2013 the Victorian Racing Club (VRC) and Greenland announced their plan to develop two parcels of land at Flemington Racecourse.

Australand Development 77-89 Military Road

Places Victoria, in partnership with Australand Property Group, has developed plans for the vacant site at 77-89 Military Road, Avondale Heights.

Essendon Airport Curfew

Essendon Airport Curfew is operated by Essendon Airport Pty Ltd (EAPL) and is located on Commonwealth land. As such responsibility for its management lies with the Commonwealth Government.

Former proposed East West Link

The former State Government planned to build an east west road link across Melbourne, spanning approximately 18 kilometres across the city. This project was to be divided into an Eastern section and a Western section, with the Eastern section to be the first to roll-out.

Essendon Junction Activity Centre Plan

The Essendon Junction area is a nominated neighbourhood activity centre.

St Columban’s Mission is applying to Council to redevelop the site historically known as North Park Estate located at 45-69 Woodland Street, Essendon (North Park Estate).
